Apple pushes anti-virus for Macs
Hang on a minute…apple pushing anti-virus…i thought these ‘virus’ only affected the windows! Haha asif! Macboys in the world, please swallow your pride! Your operating system is not the best, (and no I’m not saying windows is better!) so get off your high horses about being virus free! You know that not to be true, and even the latest version of leopard was iffy with security! Just accept that no operating system is 100% secure, yes you were ’safer’ in smaller numbers, but now apples got a bigger market share, more attacks are being made on it!
The vast majority of malicious programs circulating online are aimed at Microsoft’s Windows, largely because the software is used by so many people.
Leave windows alone shunning it to being a virus laden os – in fact most of the viruses are caused by the user…visitng dodgy websites (aka porn and cracking sites) and using P2P
The support note recommends that Mac owners install one or more of three anti-virus products.
Advice on the site said: “Apple encourages the widespread use of multiple antivirus utilities so that virus programmers have more than one application to circumvent, thus making the whole virus writing process more difficult.”
Apple recommended users try McAfee VirusScan, Symantec Norton Anti-Virus 11, or Intego VirusBarrier X5. A handful of viruses have been written that targets Mac’s OSX, but most have been demonstration versions only and few have had any significant impact on Apple users.
It’s quite ironic i guess that these ‘virus free’ operating systems ask owners of macs to install anti virus software! I guess I’ll probably be slammed now by lots of macboy fans, but hey oh well every-one’s entitled to their opinion!

Users even of Mac have entered the new era of the global community, dealing with viruses and their security upon a vast level of users. Ultimately defeating their purpose to buying a Mac for the virus free experience now is no more than a dream. There is no safe OS; there never will be as long as processes are able to be run, executions towards mellitus software can be committed.
“Apple recommended users try McAfee VirusScan, Symantec Norton Anti-Virus 11, or Intego VirusBarrier X5. ” – BBC News, 02/Dec/2008.
“One virus, known as AppleScript.THT, could take control of a Mac and grab screenshots or keystrokes.” – BBC News, 02/Dec/2008.
The question is whose OS is ultimately the finest in terms of security?
The globally known and most used Microsoft’s Windows, or the smaller brand known as Mac with their growing market upon a more prone system?
